Charleston, SC – Branham Group, Inc. has been selected to provide engineering procurement construction (EPC) services for the upcoming expansion announced by City Roots Farm, a family-owned organic farm focused on year-round microgreen production.

City Roots Farm, established in 2009, is a family-owned organic farm located in Columbia, South Carolina, and is the state’s first urban farm. The operation utilizes greenhouse best practices and standards for growing high-quality, certified organic microgreens year-round. City Roots Microgreens can be found throughout the East Coast from restaurants to grocery retailers and food distributors.
City Roots is expanding its operation onto its newly acquired 90-acre organic farm located at 1630 Longwood Road in Pineview Industrial Park. The new state-of-the-art carbon-neutral facility will include a 73,000 sq. ft. greenhouse, solar generation, geothermal radiant heating and cooling system, as well as a packaging and distribution facility. The facility will boast energy-efficient lighting & controls, an annual 780,175 kWh of renewable solar energy production, and an annual 2.5 million BTUs of renewable geothermal energy. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2024.
